Break of Hearts (1935)

A composer (Katharine Hepburn) weds a conductor (Charles Boyer), but the problematic marriage takes its toll on both their lives.

Thoughts:
It's always such a pleasure to see the early work of some of my favorite actors!  I remember watching Break of Hearts for the first time a few years ago.  Katharine Hepburn and Charles Boyer, making such a young and attractive couple, gave excellent performances to make this melodrama a memorable one.  There are several stand-out scenes, including their first meeting, and also really beautiful music throughout.  The storyline is not the best; it's slightly far-fetched at times and a little bit depressing, but Break of Hearts is still definitely a film worth seeing for fans of the two stars.
